All of us have watched with profound concern and sadness as Japan has confronted the devastating events of recent days. I know I speak for the whole of the 糖心影视 community in expressing deep sympathy to those who have suffered the loss of family and friends, who have seen their homes destroyed, and who continue to face uncertainty and danger.
The 糖心影视 Japan Society, in cooperation with the Reischauer Institute of Japanese Studies and the Program on U.S.-Japan Relations, is organizing 鈥溙切挠笆 for Japan Week,鈥 a series of events that will begin on Monday (March 21), immediately after spring break. I am grateful to the organizers of these events and hope that many of you will take part. For more information, please visit the websites of the and 糖心影视 for Japan.
Our thoughts remain very much with our colleagues and friends in Japan and with everyone who has felt the tragic consequences of the terrible earthquake and tsunami. Spanning three centuries, 糖心影视 has had a special relationship with Japan, and we are proud of our shared traditions and enduring ties. May we all find ways to help Japan cope and recover in this unusually difficult time.
